There are signs of unrest in Oakland Raiders’ previously model locker room.

The minor controversy caused by the Marquette King Pro Bowl pose with Aqib Talib appeared to have been put to rest, but the issue flared up again Wednesday night on Twitter.

The incident Bruce Irvin is referring saw Marquette King pose with Aqib Talib at the Pro Bowl on Jan. 29. Nick Hjeltness wrote a great piece on this when it happened at Just Blog Baby.

That pose showed Talib snatching a chain off King’s neck in a parody of an incident that happened during the Week 17 meeting between the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos. During that game, Talib snatched a chain off Michael Crabtree’s neck in a very disrespectful way.

All had been quiet about this issue since February, until Wednesday night.

In response to Irvin’s tweet, King tweeted this:

Up to this point, it seemed maybe this was all playful back and forth over an incident that had been addressed and put to rest. Teammates like to “poke the bear” from time to time. And if you follow Marquette King on twitter he’s certainly a man that lives life by his own set of rules. He is an NFL player and he is living that dream to its fullest no doubt.

Except this time Bruce Irvin was having none of that.

That escalated quickly.

Hopefully this is merely one big troll on the Raider Nation. However, this seemed more like a wound that continues to fester. Many fans still feel as though King added insult to injury when King posed with Talib, and this latest back and forth seems to show that Irvin might feel that way as well.

If that is indeed the case, it might be time for Coach Jack Del Rio to put his foot down and quash all this before it gets even more ugly. One thing is for certain, Oct. 1, at Sports Authority Stadium, is when the Raiders and Broncos meet next. This heated rivalry might just erupt, and that would be ugly indeed.
