With a shifting landscape based on relocation, here are 10 cities that need an NFL expansion team.

The NFL has had an unprecedented run of relocation recently, with the Rams and Chargers moving to Los Angeles and the Raiders moving to Las Vegas in the next couple years. Los Angeles was always the market used to put pressure on other cities to build a stadium for their NFL team, but the market is now saturated with two teams that will eventually call the same stadium home.

With annual games in London, international expansion seems to be on the NFL’s radar. The actual viability of it is another matter, but logistics may be all that stands in the way.

The NFL seems just fine as currently constructed, with 32 teams. But the league is always looking for ways to increase revenue, as any business would, and here are 10 cities that need an NFL expansion team.

10. Sacramento

Somehow, California’s capital city has an NBA team and nothing else in terms of major pro sports. That does not seem to be in line to change anytime soon, with other teams not too far away elsewhere in northern California, but the NFL could see some potential there if expansion is considered.

The Sacramento Kings were possibly in line to move to Seattle a few years ago, before a new arena was built to keep them in place. That could make the NFL afraid to move into the market, but a league-wide ego and an “if you build it, we will come” element could prevail to put Sacramento on the radar.
