Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane made a classy move by giving his first class seat on an airplane to a soldier.

On the ice, Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane has been arguably the most productive American forward of all time. He is to this day the only player born in the USA to win an Art Ross Trophy. Kane showed he can be a pretty awesome guy off the ice as well when he gave up his first class seat to a soldier who was sitting in coach.

“Kane said ‘There’s a soldier on this flight,’” said flight attendant Teri Truss, via CBS Chicago. “And I said ‘Yeah, okay?’ He said ‘I would like for him to sit up front, and I would like to give him my first-class seat, and I’ll go to the back,’” Truss said. “I’m like, ‘Are you sure?’ He said yes, and I was, like, ‘Perfect. Great opportunity.’”

This is a very classy move by the Blackhawks forward. Kane’s always had a very special place in his heart for the military, assisting his team in sending the Stanley Cup to overseas soldiers. He didn’t have to do this, but it’s still an extremely nice gesture. The soldier was very happy to get the first class treatment he deserved. Later, Kane visited with the soldier during the flight.

The Blackhawks forward is coming off another impressive season. While Kane didn’t win the Art Ross again, he still put up 34 goals and 89 points. He finished ninth in the league in points and 10th in goals. While Kane’s Blackhawks got swept by the Nashville Predators in the first round, they still have a fairly bright future. And thanks to the star forward, a soldier got a much better day and deserved recognition for what he does.
