John Wall game-winning 3 forces Game 7 vs. Celtics (Video)
The Washington Wizards were down by two point with under 10 seconds left in Game 6, but John Wall turned the tables with a clutch 3-point make
There’s not really any competition for the best series in the 2017 NBA Playoffs to date. The Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics have been putting on a show from the start. And with the Wizards playing on their home floor in the Verizon Center on Friday in Game 6, they faced elimination. It only figured that it would go down to the wire. And sure enough, it was one of the most clutch players in the series that took over when it mattered.
Washington and Boston were tied at 87 apiece late in the game and they began trading buckets. When the Celtics went up by two, Bradley Beal answered. Then Isaiah Thomas drove and dished to Al Horford for another go-ahead bucket with 7.7 seconds remaining. That gave the Wizards the ball and allowed the Wizards point guard to go to work.
Wall got the ball in the halfcourt on the right side of the floor. He dribbled quickly and was being given space, the defense respecting the drive. Instead, he pulled up in their face — likely telling they made a huge mistake — and buried a 3-point attempt with a hand in his face to go up by a point:
Sometimes there’s only so much a defender can do. Trying to defend John Wall is a time when those situations arise. Avery Bradley is one of the best defenders in the league and he got burned in the biggest moment of Game 6.
Thomas, of course, had a chance to win it for the visiting Cs, but it was no good.

Now the series heads to the TD Garden where there will be one final matchup, a Game 7. The winner gets the dubious honor of facing the Cleveland Cavalier in the Eastern Conference Finals. If it’s anything like its six preceding contests, fans will be in for a treat.
