Lucifer has found his rhythm once again at work and he can control his emotions to ignite the sword. But will that be enough to get his family home at last?

In “Deceptive Little Parasite” we see that Lucifer has a new perspective on life after taking a trip to Hell. He can see that Charlotte is up to something, and he’s trying to stay ahead of her.

Does Lucifer want to leave?

As soon as Lucifer found out that he has the item his family needs to return to Heaven, Azrael’s sword, he was forced to think about having to leave Earth with his family. After going to Hell to save Chloe, he realized that he enjoys his work with her and he enjoys his life in Los Angeles.

Lucifer knows that his mother has a reason for wanting to return to the Silver City, but he doesn’t seem to want any part of it. He’s happy where he is. How will this impact her plans for a return? Well, we know a little bit about Lucifer’s plan: he’s going to let her in and then lock the door. He doesn’t want to be there at all.

But is it so simple?

Charlotte’s game

At the end of “Deceptive Little Parasite,” Charlotte pushed Lucifer to ignite the sword with such insistence that Amenadiel couldn’t help but take note. Lucifer had warned his brother that something was off about Charlotte’s strong desire to return to Heaven, and now Amenadiel has seen it with his own eyes.

Lucifer knows his mother is a lot stronger than she should be, but he doesn’t know that she’s leaking light. The bandage on her wrist revealed that she is oozing light. Is she running out of time? Is that why she needs to get home so badly?

The demon and the kid

Let’s face it: Maze and Trixie are stealing the show. Trixie is adorable, and she gives the Devil himself a run for his money. We need more Trixie.

Maze is also coming into her own, studying situations and figuring out how to help. She’s fiercely protective of Chloe and Trixie, which is why she showed up to help Chloe at the school reception. While she often has inappropriate methods, her heart is in the right place. We need more Maze.

Watching Trixie and Maze is a juxtaposition of roles: Trixie is a child who is an old soul while Maze is an adult who is childlike in her quest to find her place on Earth.

Lucifer is gearing up for a big decision, and it doesn’t look like the cards are going to fall neatly into place on this one. He still needs to work a few things out, but Lucifer always has a plan.
