Former NFL linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested in his home state of Alabama Friday, with three charges involving drugs and weapons.

Even though he was already indefinitely suspended from the NFL, Rolando McClain got himself in even more trouble Friday. McClain was arrested and charged with marijuana possession, carrying a firearm without a permit and a misdemeanor equipment violation, per the Decatur Daily.

McClain was reportedly pulled over by the police for having tinted windows, and they smelled the marijuana coming out of his car. McClain has been in and out of trouble with the law since he entered the league, but the Dallas Cowboys still re-signed him to a deal last season.

McClain has shown he has what it takes to play in the NFL with his skill set but he can’t seem to keep it together off the field. He did not appear in a game last season because he was set to serve a 10-game suspension; he then violated that and was suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

McClain is yet another unfortunate case of a player wasting their talents away because of off the field issues. Most of McClain’s troubles have seem to come in Decatur, Alabama, where he is originally from. Instead of trying to avoid situations like this, he continually kept on returning there and finding new trouble each time.

He is going to have to wait an even longer time now to apply reinstatement back into the NFL, but even then there’s a small chance it gets approved. Even if it does, it’s hard to see any NFL team giving him another chance to play in the league. Although Rolando McClain is only 27 years old, we may have seen the last of him on an NFL football field.
