RB Leipzig face Bayern Munich at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, May 13. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Bayern Munich have already wrapped up another Bundesliga title. RB Leipzig can lock up second place in their first season in the Bundesliga with a point on Saturday.
Injuries have started to take their toll on Bayern. Munich will be without starting keeper Manuel Neuer and his backup Sven Ulreich. 36-year old Tom Starke will make his second consecutive start. Last week’s appearance was Starke’s first for Bayern since the 2013-14 season. Since joining the club in 2012, Starke has made eight appearances.
Bayern defeated Darmstadt last week, officially relegating them to the second division. Juan Bernat was able to get inside the box and score in the 18th minute. Despite hitting several posts, Bayern could not add to their lead. In the 86th minute, Starke saved a Hamit Altintop penalty to keep the clean sheet.
Leipzig clinched their spot in next year’s Champions League with a 4-1 win over Hertha in Berlin. Timo Werner opened the crossing with a headed goal in the 11th minute. In the 54th minute Werner scored his 19th goal of the season after Hertha keeper Rune Jarstein slipped attempting to clear the ball. Hertha was given life after Rani Khedira scored an own goal. However, Davie Selke crushed any hope of Berlin getting a point when he scored twice in a four-minute span.
