After losing his title fight to Canelo Alvarez on May 6, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. allegedly had his $3 million fight check stolen by a group of women.

Julio Cesar Chavez was soundly beaten by Canelo Alvarez in their bout on May 6, but the worst part was what happened when he stepped outside the ring. According to Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN Deportes, the boxer has his fight check totaling $3 million was stolen and his wife says the same group of women also stole his phone and a $40,000 Hublot watch.

Frida Chavez told news site Remezcla:

"“I had the check on the table, and when I checked the next day, there was no check. The watch was also gone.”"

The MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada found the multi-million dollar check. However, according to the Daily Mail, the watch has yet to be retrieved. Frida Chavez claims they met the group of women in the hotel bar and started partying with them in the former middleweight title holder’s hotel suite. Explicit video, in which Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is surrounded by women, surfaced on May 8. Frida says she was not in the room at the time of the party. She believes the items were stolen between 5 am and 6 am on the morning of May 7.

Without citing evidence, Frida, also, suggested that her husband may have been drugged by these women, who were planning to take advantage of him the whole time. However, she still blamed the incident on the fighter drinking too much. Chavez has a reputation as a party animal. The alleged robbery came after a frustrating fight for Julio Cesar Chavez. Chavez was outfought from the very first punch and never came back.

The fight was promoted as a battle for Mexico’s “heart and soul,” but Chavez came wholly unprepared to the battle. These material losses only add to a rough week for the boxer. At the moment, the couple is considering legal retribution. Additionally, they have questioned MGM Grand staff regarding the loss of the watch.
