Senators fans celebrate playoff win in most Canadian way possible
True to form, these hockey fans in Canada’s capital are nothing if not polite.
The capital of Canada is buzzing right now, as the Ottawa Senators continue to succeed in the NHL’s Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Sens, now in an Eastern Conference Final battle with the defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins, won Game 1 on Saturday night to take an early series lead.
The excitement is tangible in the capital, and the atmosphere after the game on Saturday must’ve been something special. Ottawa is now further in the playoffs than they have been since 2007, and fans are keen to celebrate.
This group of Sens fans took to the streets for a uniquely Canadian party. They danced in the middle of the road, but only when the traffic light was red — they wouldn’t want to impede the flow of traffic, would they? CBC Ottawa reporter Andrew Foote caught the polite festivities on camera:

Senators fans are rightfully ecstatic after their team stole a game on the road against the heavily-favored Penguins. After Bobby Ryan scored in overtime to take it for the away team, Ottawa is now just three wins away from the Stanley Cup Final.
