Braun Strowman underwent surgery on his injured elbow recently, and he’s looking at being out of action for a long time.

We’ve known for the past couple weeks that Braun Strowman was working through an elbow injury, and that injury that would ultimately require surgery. The hope was that the “Monster Among Men” would not be out of action for all that long, but now that hope has gone completely out the window.

On Monday, WWE.com announced that the former strongman competitor underwent the procedure on the elbow, and following the surgery, it was revealed that he will be out of action for up to six months. That sound you hear is WWE fans weeping across the globe, as Strowman was quickly becoming one of the more beloved characters on RAW in recent months.

Reports began to surface prior to last week’s taped RAW from London that Strowman was suffering from an injury, and they ran an angle on the show to write him off from television where rival Roman Reigns repeatedly smashed the elbow with a chair. Strowman retreated to the back following the attack, and now that will be the lasting image we have of him on RAW until he does make his return.

Now as for the return, the six-month timetable puts Strowman back some time in November, meaning that a possible appearance at Survivor Series — one of WWE’s biggest events of the year — is entirely possible. If the company did plan on having Strowman face off with Brock Lesnar for the Universal title some time this summer, then they could somehow re-work some plans to make that match happen at the annual November pay-per-view.

Of course, another option on the table here is to let Strowman recover, tell him to sit home for another two months to rest up and end up winning the 2018 Royal Rumble in Philadelphia as a surprise entrant. Imagine the pop Strowman would get were he to show his face again in Philadelphia, of all places?

Whatever the case, we wish Strowman the speediest of recoveries so he can get back to entertaining us on a weekly basis by dismantling foes at a rapid rate.
