Twitter reacts to Kelly Olynyk going off for the Celtics in Game 7
Kelly Olynyk had the game of his life for the Celtics in Game 7 against the Wizards, and Twitter showed some love to the unlikely hero.
Kelly Olynyk was definitely not the name many expected to be saying when discussing the hyped up Game 7 between the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards, but here we are.
Olynyk had the game of his life in a win-or-go-home situation, and helped the Celtics to a 115-105 win over the Wizards to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. Olynyk dropped 26 points, and went 10-for-14 from the floor in the win. It was a career high in points for Olynyk, who wasn’t even a starter in the lineup for Game 7.
He got a standing ovation as the Celtics let him come back into the game with 8 seconds left as Isaiah Thomas came off the court, and it’s rare to say that I.T. wasn’t even the most important player of the night.
Twitter was, of course, all fired up for Olynyk’s incredible performance, and was the source for some great material from all those watching the game. Here are some of the best tweets about the one and only Kelly “The Clinic” Olynyk:

The Celtics will start the Conference finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers at home at the TD Garden on Wednesday, and we’ll get to see Olynyk match up with Cleveland’s Kevin Love, who Olynyk notoriously injured in the teams’ first round battle two years ago.

The C’s also have a chance to win the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night, which is a rare occurrence for a team starting the Eastern Conference finals the next night. Hopefully they can utilize whatever Olynyk used before Game 7 to get some extra luck for these next few nights, too.
For now, Boston fans will forever remember this Game 7 against the Wizards as the “Kelly Olynyk Game”, something everyone definitely thought they’d be saying when this postseason began.
