With Ghost Rider returning and AIDA playing the role of an Inhuman, Agents of SHIELD is pulling out all the stops for its fourth season finale.

Season 4 of Agents of SHIELD is coming to an end. On the one hand, it’s sad, because this season has been amazing. But it’s also a relief, since it’s gotten hard to keep up with all the twists and turns the show has been pulling on us.

This season has been unique in its structure. Rather than tell one overarching story for 22 episodes, they split it up into three different story arcs. That helped narrow the focus, which is why season 4 has been so effective. But by bringing the Darkhold back into the mix and having Ghost Rider come back, the “Agents of Hydra” arc is bringing the narrative full circle.

It may seem hard at first to say goodbye to Agents of SHIELD for more than four months, but at least fans can take comfort in the fact that this finale will be 90 minutes long. Here’s the synopsis for “World’s End,” according to TV Guide:

"In the Season 4 finale, Ghost Rider emerges suddenly and Coulson and the team attempt to stop Aida from ending the world."

Whatever Agents of SHIELD’s gonna pull off in this finale is anybody’s guess. Even in its fourth season, this show has proven they have a tendency to pull off a complete stunner. Hopefully, that doesn’t end up being the death of a beloved character.
