Manchester City face West Brom at the Etihad on Tuesday, May 16. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
With the 2016-17 Premier League season winding down, Manchester City find themselves in a fight for the top four that’s coming right down to the wire. When they go into Tuesday’s game against West Brom, they’ll be fourth, but just three points ahead of Arsenal (who play last-place Sunderland at the same time). This will be City’s last home game of the year, and a win would effectively lock up a Champions League spot for them, with a five-goal advantage in goal difference over the Gunners as it stands.
The visiting Baggies, on the other hand, have little to play for this week, with Europa League places well out of reach. They currently sit eighth on 45 points, six behind Everton. They enter this tough fixture on a run of bad form, currently winless in their last seven games. West Brom fell 1-0 at home to Chelsea last Friday, where the Blues officially clinched the Premier League title.
City, on the other hand, have had several good results recently, winning 2-1 on Saturday over Leicester, and 5-0 a week before against Crystal Palace. They still have third-place Liverpool in their sights, just one point behind. The Sky Blues will be more focused on putting some space between them and Arsenal, though, as they look to assure themselves of Champions League qualification in 2017-18.
