Nintendo has announced that a Nintendo Direct is coming on Wednesday. It will focus on ARMS and show off a new Splatoon 2 trailer.

We’re officially a month out before E3 2017 begins. We didn’t think Nintendo would have anything else to announce prior to the big event, but it looks like we were wrong. On Tuesday, Nintendo revealed that a new Nintendo Direct is coming on Wednesday. Apparently, the main focus will be on their upcoming new fighting IP, ARMS. They’ve also confirmed that we’ll be getting a brand-new Splatoon 2 trailer.

In reality, this is a smart move by Nintendo. E3 2017 will run from June 13 to June 15. It just so happens that ARMS will be releasing that same week on Friday, June 16. It wouldn’t make much sense to reveal everything else they have to show about the game at the actual event. They probably have a ton of new announcements, so they’re getting this out of the way in order to get fans excited about the game.

So far, everything we’ve seen about ARMS looks very interesting. We weren’t all to excited about it when it was first unveiled. But, after the event, Nintendo has done a great job at getting us on board. It looks like a unique fighting game and something that no other game has done before. Let’s not forget to mention that the characters all look like a ton of fun to play. We’re sure we’ll learn even more about it tomorrow.

Like we said, we’ll also be seeing a new Splatoon 2 trailer. We aren’t sure what to expect from that since from what we’ve played and seen, the game seems very similar to the first installment. Obviously, there are few new additions to the sequel, but we’re hoping this trailer really shows something that stands out. Maybe we’ll even get details on other projects.

The ARMS Direct goes down tomorrow, May 17, at 6 p.m. ET.
