The NBA Draft Lottery wasn’t about the Celtics getting the No. 1 pick, it was about Joel Embiid being Joel Embiid. The Sixers’ 23-year-old charismatic center was absolutely made for live TV.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid was tabbed to represent the franchise at the NBA Draft Lottery last night in Manhattan. To the surprise of no one, Embiid delivered the goods and ended up stealing the show, leaving us all wanting more Embiid on our TV screens.

But let’s back up for a moment to last week’s tweet where Embiid delivered the news that he would, in fact, be in attendance.

There’s nothing better than a professional athlete who’s self-aware and grounded enough to be willing to mock themselves. And that’s what makes him so freakin’ likable.

Between his valiant quest to win the hand of Rihanna and his unmistakeable, hilarious presence, it’s hard not to root for the guy and hope he can stay healthy going forward.

Right here is exactly what I mean by his presence.

Just amazing. But let’s get to that outfit.

While it doesn’t take much for a 7-footer like Embiid to stand out, he makes damn sure to put a few exclamation points on his ensemble to ensure he doesn’t go unnoticed.

A red suit, a contrasting striped shirt and a gold chain that pops usually oughta do the trick, but…

… nope.

That outfit by itself just isn’t quite enough to say “I am here and I am owning everyone in this room.”

Until, of course, you get to the shoes.

My god, these gold shoes. The perfect play off the gold chain.

Here’s Embiid showing off the shoes with Andrew Wiggins, who looks like he’s gunning for Prom King.

And here’s Joel talking about his golden beauties as only he can.

Seriously, this man is a national treasure and needs to be a guest on TNT’s Inside The NBA as soon as heavenly possible.
