Corey Perry helped the Anaheim Ducks overcome blowing a 2-0 lead to the Nashville Predators, notching the game winner in Game 4 in overtime.

Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals was a heck of a game. It ended up going to overtime, the third game of the series that refused to be solved in regulation. In a postseason that has seen nearly a record level of overtimes, this one proved to be one of the most exciting. After losing a two goal lead late in Game 4, the Anaheim Ducks came back to win 3-2 over the Nashville Predators. Corey Perry provided the game winner.

Ironically, this game comes just 13 days and a year after a triple overtime win for the Predators over the San Jose Sharks. Anaheim desperately needed a win in Game 4, especially being down 2-1 in the series. Thanks to Perry, the Ducks will return to Anaheim with the series tied at two games apiece.

Perry got his third overtime goal of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Anaheim keeps on finding unique ways to win. It’s rarely pretty, but it works for them. In Game 2, the Ducks overcame a 2-0 and 3-1 deficit to come back and win 5-3. Perry also has an overtime winner in each of the first three playoff rounds, having done so against the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers.

With that goal, he now has four goals in the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs along with 11 points. Perry’s a proven playoff performer, having helped the Ducks win the 2007 Stanley Cup. Now he’s helping them as a veteran.

The Ducks will return home to Anaheim with the series tied at two games. They probably don’t deserve it, especially not after blowing a 2-0 lead late due to terrible penalties. But thanks to Perry, they’re still very much alive in the Western Conference Finals.
