After the game was revealed last month, we got our first look at Destiny 2 gameplay on Thursday. It does look promising, but so did the first game.

We’ve officially seen the first gameplay footage for Destiny 2. As of right now, the game does look like a ton of fun, and we’re hoping that developer Bungie can deliver on everything they’re promising. We know that they didn’t do this the first time around.

With the game scheduled to release later this year, there’s no doubt that the game has a ton of hype behind it. This is a familiar feeling for us. Destiny had a ton of hype in 2014. In fact, we can’t remember a game that had this much hype behind it. We bought a console for this game, for crying out loud. Unfortunately, it didn’t really live up to its potential, at least at launch. As time went on, the game got better by adding more content, but all of this content should have been included in the game.

You wanted to play the rest of the game? You had to pay even more money. The game became repetitive and redundant, which led us to ultimately stop playing. We don’t want to experience this again, so we rather just forget about all of it.

Let’s start fresh with Destiny 2. First up, check out the introduction video they showed, which is a cinematic trailer that opened up the live stream:

Next, check out what you’ve been waiting for, which is the first gameplay footage:

From watching the footage, the gameplay seems very similar to Destiny, which isn’t a bad thing. The problem with the first game wasn’t the gameplay, but that content and variety involved. It seems like they’ll be changing that for the better in this game.

We can say that the game does seem much more polished and the stunning visuals help portray that. What’s also interesting is that this game actually has a story, which will be a ton of fun playing with a party of friends.

All we know about the story is it all starts off with loss. Ghaul is after the Guardians in order to take their power, so you must stop him.

Other than the story, what we want to play the most is the online multiplayer. It has been confirmed that PvP (Player vs. Player) will be 4v4 in the Crucible, which is definitely more competitive. There will also be a ton of new strikes, new modes and a brand new raid.

Most importantly, it does look like a ton of fun. The number of weapons to choose from, the different abilities and classes are all adding to this game in a positive way.

You can check out another video, where Bungie goes into detail about the story and the gameplay:

They did promise a world that pulls you in, amazing things to do and that you’ll always have someone to play with. We hope they’re right.

Destiny 2 launches on Sep. 8, 2017, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
