P.K. Subban has cut the Anaheim Ducks lead to 2-1 in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.

The Nashville Predators traded for P.K. Subban during last offseason. They did so because he’s a clutch playoff performer who is a dynamic threat to score at any given moment. The trade looks brilliant with Subban producing in the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In Game 4, the Predators found themselves down 2-0 in the third period against the Anaheim Ducks. Subban cut their deficit in half with a snipe with some help from a screen by Filip Forsberg.

The former Montreal Canadiens defenseman has had a heck of an postseason for the Predators. So far, he has two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 14 games during the 2017 NHL Playoffs. Meanwhile, Shea Weber, who got traded for Subban, and the Canadiens found themselves eliminated in the first round by the New York Rangers.

This goal couldn’t have come at a better time for Nashville. They desperately needed a spark to their game and Subban, as he usually does, created it. Both on and off the ice, he gives them a new energy which they lacked without him.

The Ducks have dominated Game 4 so far, but some third period penalties have allowed the Predators to get back into it. Subban’s strike came just after a power play ended. He might not have been fully appreciated in Montreal, but his fun loving and at times enigmatic personality plays great in Nashville.

Should the Predators find a way to come back and win in Game 4, Subban’s goal might go down as one of the biggest in franchise history. This isn’t the first time the defenseman has led a team to the conference finals, as he did so with the Canadiens as well.
