Is Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the NASCAR All-Star Race? We let you know if Earnhardt will be driving at Charlotte in what is his final NASCAR Cup Series season.

Is Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the NASCAR All-Star Race? Fans have been wondering about whether or not Dale Jr. will be part of Sunday’s exhibition festivities, given his recent struggles on the track and how he missed a portion of last season with concussion symptoms.

Good news, everyone! (We hope you read that in Professor Farnsworth’s voice.) Dale Earnhardt Jr. is in the NASCAR All-Star Race. He has one of the 16 guaranteed spots in Saturday’s field at Charlotte, thanks to being an active driver who previously won the event. Dale Jr. took the top spot in the All-Star Race back in 2000.

It’s even more important because this is likely to be his final All-Star Race, after Earnhardt made public his decision to retire at the end of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season. He will have one more shot to join Davey Allison, Mark Martin and Terry Labonte as two-time All-Star Race winners.

His father Dale Earnhardt Sr. won the NASCAR All-Star Race three times in 1987, 1990 and 1993. The most All-Star Race wins belong to Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s teammate Jimmie Johnson, who’s won the event four times, most recently in 2013.

NASCAR fans would certainly love to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. rack up that second NASCAR All-Star Race victory on Saturday night and etch his name in the history books. We’ll have to see if he is able to steal the show at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and in so doing perhaps also give his 2017 NASCAR season a much-needed kickstart.
