ArsenalĀ fans are not pleased that theyāll be missing out on the Champions League next season.
Despite beating Everton 3-1 at the Emirates on Sunday, Arsenal have finished fifth in the Premier League this season after wins by both Liverpool and Manchester City. They ended up with 75 points, dooming them to the 2017-18 Europa League.
This will be Arsenalās lowest league finish since 1996, and the first time theyāve missed out on the Champions League under Arsene Wenger. Fans are beginning to call for the long-tenured managerās head, unhappy without a league title since 2004. Wenger reportedly did not join the team for their lap of honor at the Emirates after the game, suggesting something may be brewing.
Arsenal needed Liverpool to drop points at Anfield against Middlesbrough, but it was not to be as the Reds beat up on Boro 3-0 to punch their ticket to Europe.
The Gunners will get a chance to win some silverware next weekend when they play Chelsea for their third FA Cup in four years, but the North London faithful are growing frustrated by their clubās poor record in Europe.
