The Cleveland Cavaliers are okay with being the enemy. They also like Space Jam. It comes as no surprise that they entered Game 3 to the Monstars theme.

If you grew up in the 1990s, there is a very good chance that the movie Space Jam holds sentimental value in your heart. The Cleveland Cavaliers are chock full of ’90s babies. So it’s not shocking at all that they entered Game 3 of the 2017 Eastern Conference Finals at home to Space Jam music.

However, it’s not “Welcome to the Space Jam”, because that’s too obvious. Instead, the Cavaliers have embraced being the evil empire of the Eastern Conference, taking to the Quicken Loans Arena floor to the Monstars theme.

It is about as ominous of a tune that features Bugs Bunny as a major character in this major motion picture from the mid-90s. Frankly, the Cavaliers didn’t need to use the Monstars theme to strike fear in the visiting Boston Celtics. They already do that by having LeBron James as the Cavaliers’ star player.

On Friday in Game 2 in Boston, the Cavaliers obliterated the Celtics on their own floor, 130-86. Cleveland at one point had more than a 50-point lead on the top-seeded Celtics. The Cavaliers took the first two games of this best-of-seven series on the road at the TD Garden in Boston.

With the Celtics being without All-NBA point guard Isaiah Thomas for the rest of the season, it looks almost impossible for the Celtics to win a game, let alone advance to the NBA Finals. Boston has not reached the NBA Finals since 2010. The Celtics remain the last team in the Eastern Conference to not have James on its roster and reach the NBA Finals. Should Cavaliers advance, this will be the seventh season in a row that James will have played in an NBA Finals.
