Here’s the episode synopsis for “Sympathy for the Goddess”:
"When the man who has the last piece of the flaming sword is murdered, the piece goes missing; Maze recruits Lucifer to help save Dr. Linda’s career and confronts him about his secrets."
Lucifer already told Dr. Linda that he wants to open the gates to Heaven, push Charlotte inside and lock her in so she and his father can battle it out. But after his tete a tete with God Johnson, Lucifer’s feelings toward his father might have changed a bit. Charlotte, however, wants to get back more than ever and she won’t let the missing piece of the flaming sword stop her.
Maze had no idea about the plan to return to Heaven until Amenadiel revealed it to her, and now she’s upset at the idea of being abandoned. More than that, however, is the fact that Lucifer never mentioned anything about it to her. Now she’s upset with Lucifer and wants to know what he’s hiding, but she also needs his help to save Dr. Linda’s career, which forces an uncomfortable truce while they work to save their friend.
