Spectators at Bridgestone Arena did their best to get in the Ducks’ goalie’s head.

Nashville Predators fans are in a pretty good mood at the moment, with their team leading the Anaheim Ducks 2-0 in the first period of Game 6 in their Western Conference Final series. After Ducks goaltender Jonathan Bernier allowed a tough goal on the Preds’ first shot of the game, the Nashville faithful made sure he knew they were grateful.

In one of the more impressive displays of fan cohesion at an NHL arena, the fans chanted “all your fault” at the netminder and sang out his name.

Austin Watson scored for Nashville at 1:21, firing it off Ducks defenseman Brandon Montour for his third marker of the playoffs.

Predators fans have become well-known for their creative cheering in these playoffs, with several other moments like this. The atmosphere at Bridgestone Arena has been a huge factor in Nashville’s impressive postseason home record, losing just once (in Game 4 of the series on Thursday).

It seems the crowd may have gotten to Bernier a little bit, as the Preds scored again before the 10-minute mark. Colton Sissons beat the goalie over his right pad on a shot from the hash marks to make it 2-0. Although Anaheim have dominated the shot count so far in this game, outshooting the Predators 12-4 in the first period, it was Nashville that took a two-goal lead into the dressing room after 20.

The Preds currently lead this Western Conference Final series 3-2, meaning that if they hold on to win this game they’ll advance to the Stanley Cup Final and play the Pittsburgh Penguins or Ottawa Senators. That would be Nashville’s first-ever trip to the NHL’s biggest stage, with the team already further in the playoffs than they ever have been.
