Rockstar Games has delayed Red Dead Redemption 2. Our emotions all over the place, but we can’t say we didn’t see this coming.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was nearly at the top of our most anticipated games list of 2017. November honestly couldn’t come soon enough. Rockstar Games has other plans, though, since they announced that the game has been delayed to spring 2018. This is very frustrating and very unfortunate, but we’d be fooling ourselves if we didn’t know that this was going to happen.

When it comes to their history, Rockstar has delayed some of its games over and over again. We assumed that this would be no different. We’ve only seen one clip the reveal footage. It’s very possible that we’ll be getting a gameplay trailer next month at E3 2017, but even then, that still seems like a short amount of time for the game to launch.

We’re sure Rockstar has been developing this game for a few years now. Like always, we want all the games we play to be the best they can be. It’s somewhat depressing that we’ll have to wait a bit longer to play it, but we understand.

Check out the company’s statement below:

"We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer."

On the bright side, Rockstar released some incredible screenshots from the game. It’s safe to say that the game is shaping up to look absolutely beautiful, which isn’t very surprising. Check out one below and visit the Rockstar blog to see the rest:

Red Dead Redemption is absolutely phenomenal. If the sequel comes even close to that, then we’re in for something special.

We can’t wait to play it in spring 2018.
