In the season 2 finale, Supergirl faces some of her biggest challenges yet in the battle for Earth. So here’s how you can tune in and watch Supergirl online.

Hello, hello, and welcome to the Supergirl season 2 finale. What a long, strange trip it’s been.

Now, I had a couple of people get testy with me over my previous recap of “Resist,” but as a whole, there’s been a lot of positive feedback. However you read into the subliminal messages of Supergirl is your business. But Supergirl‘s own executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg, said in an interview once that, “the show is called Supergirl and every character there is to service Kara’s story.”

So while Mon-El took up the entirety of season 2 and previous showrunner Ali Adler seemingly dropped off the face of Earth-38, we’ve finally made it to the end. We, dare I say, persisted. And I have this strange feeling in the pit of my stomach that Supergirl‘s going to pull off something a lot cooler in the future and the episode title (as arguably problematic as it may be) attempts to be a nod at that.

Now let’s look at the synopsis of the Supergirl season finale, “Nevertheless, She Persisted”:

"SUPERGIRL FIGHTS FOR HER CITY; SUPERMAN RETURNS – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) challenges Rhea (guest star Teri Hatcher) to battle to save National City. Meanwhile, Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) returns and Cat Grant (guest star Calista Flockhart) offers Supergirl some sage advice. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Andrew Kreisberg & Jessica Queller and teleplay by Robert Rovner & Caitlin Parrish (#222). Original airdate 5/22/2017."

Another thing Kreisberg said recently:

"“The finale is probably the biggest episode we’ve ever done. We saved a bunch of money to pay for more visual effects and actually added another day to the schedule so we could make it as big as possible.”"

I hope he’s being legit because their effects are bad. Not even like ‘this is The CW, chill out’ bad. But like their editing team was asleep at the wheel. I see a stunt double in every episode and some of the falling scenes look like a third grader’s Final Cut project. Hopefully, Kreisberg delivers and we get some cool stuff. I mean, the promo looked fairly legit.
