This week on Arrow, the season finale finds Oliver facing off against Prometheus for a final time. With his team captured, Oliver will turn to some unlikely people for help.
Last week on Arrow, Adrian Chase may have been locked in an ARGUS cell, but he still found a way to torture Oliver Queen. Using his allies Talia al Ghul, Evelyn Sharp and Black Siren, Chase kidnapped everyone important to Oliver, including his son, to use as leverage to get out of prison.
So where did Chase go after getting released? Well, Lian Yu of course, because everything on Arrow always leads back to the island.
But even the Green Arrow knows he can’t take on Prometheus by himself. With his usual teammates captured, Oliver turned to some unlikely people for help at the end of last week,s episode: Malcolm Merlyn and Nyssa al Ghul.
This week, the new team is expanding even more. Oliver paid a visit to Slade Wilson’s cell in the closing moments of last week’s episode. Now Deathstroke is ready to suit up and help his former friend.
Somehow, Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang makes his way onto this makeshift Team Arrow. Could this be a sign that the series is allowed to use its version of the Suicide Squad again?
Here is the synopsis for the season finale, “Lian Yu,” from SpoilerTV.
"DEATHSTROKE, NYSSA AL GHUL, MERLYN AND DIGGER HARKNESS JOIN OLIVER’S BATTLE AGAINST PROMETHEUS – The battle between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) culminates in a final epic battle on Lian Yu. After recent events, Oliver decides to recruit a group of unlikely allies – Slade (guest star Manu Bennett), Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law), Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Digger Harkness (guest star Nick. E. Tarabay) – to defeat Chase. However, Chase has his own army – Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy), Evelyn Sharp (guest star Madison McLaughlin) and Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig) – and the forces collide in an explosive season finale."
While Arrow is returning for season 6, this time on Thursday, the season finale will serve as a final chapter for one major part of the show, the flashbacks. Oliver’s five years in hell are about to be over.
