Kyrie Irving was everything for the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4. Here he is taking Jae Crowder back to school on this delicious bucket to get 42 points.

After being humiliated at home in Game 3, the Cleveland Cavaliers take care of business in Game 4 of the 2017 Eastern Conference Finals. Cleveland takes a 3-1 series lead into Game 5 after crushing past the Boston Celtics in the second half, 112-99.

Leading the charge for the Cavaliers was none other than star point guard Kyrie Irving. Yes, forwards LeBron James and Kevin Love had great games in their own right, but Irving was by far and away the best player on the court in Game 4.

When James had to ride pine in the second quarter due to early foul trouble, Irving stepped up big time. He would finish the game with 42 points on 15-22 shooting, four assists and three rebounds. His best play of the night came in garbage time when he completely schooled Celtics forward Jae Crowder to get his final bucket.

Irving attacked the rim with tremendous ferocity all night. Since he is such an adept ball handler, Irving was able to pull of this ridiculous ball fake to throw the strong Celtics wing defender for a loop.

Was Boston already out of it? Yes, but that was the exclamation point Cleveland needed to make a statement in their big Game 4 win at home. Cleveland will have to travel on the road to Boston for Game 5. Since Boston has a strong home-court advantage, it wouldn’t be out of the question for Cleveland to need Game 6 to advance to its third straight NBA Finals.

The best part of this game for Cleveland was that it took the fourth quarter for James to finally get his groove back. Love dominated on the glass, but it was Irving that made all the difference for the Cavaliers. Without Isaiah Thomas for the rest of the season, Boston has no answer for Irving if he is in peak rim-attacking mode. He was terrific tonight.
