LeBron James misses wide open dunk after Kevin Love outlet (Video)

In keeping with the rest of his night, LeBron James missed one of the easiest dunks of his career.

After an amazing soccer style outlet pass from power forward Kevin Love, LeBron James found himself alone near the Boston Celtics basket on Tuesday night in Game 4. James cocked back the ball more than usual which led to a huge bounce off the rim after his attempt.

James has been struggling since the beginning of the Cleveland Cavaliers surprising loss in Game 3. The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player scored 11 points in that game on just 4-13 shooting. Tuesday, and late in the third quarter LeBron James had 18 points on 8-16 shooting. While this is impressive on paper, he has struggled outside of the paint. He was 0-4 from beyond the arc. After the first half, LeBron James already had four fouls.

On the other hand, Kevin Love has been a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference Finals. In the Cavaliers Game 3 loss, Love scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He shot 8-16 in the game. Also, in Game 4, Love, at the time of the missed dunk, had 14 points and 13 rebounds. Throughout the series he has faced pressure in the lane and come out successfully.

Kyrie Irving has been a very consistent performer in the series. In Game 3, he scored 29 points. Through just three quarters in Game 4, Irving already had an amazing 39 points. Also, he was Game 3’s highest scorer with 29 points, despite the Cavaliers coming out on the losing end.

LeBron has had a rollercoaster few days. He was left out as a finalist for the NBA MVP, but was given the Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award for his outstanding work in the Akron, Ohio community.

Despite LeBron James’ and the Cavaliers’ struggles, they led the Celtics after three quarters by a score of 87-80. At the end of the first half, they trailed by 10.
