Senators fail to sell out Game 6 vs. Penguins
The Ottawa Senators might not be playing in front of a sell out crowd at Canadian Tire Centre in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals might be the last game of the season for the Ottawa Senators. It also might be their final home game at Canadian Tire Centre for the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Despite this, you can still get tickets for Tuesday’s Game 6.
The blue seats represent seats that are still available. If you want to buy tickets for Game 6, you can buy them from Ticketmaster. There are still plenty of great seats available for what might be your last chance to celebrate the 2016-17 Sens.
This is pretty embarrassing. Ottawa ranks among the worst teams in the NHL as far as attendance. Sure, Canadian Tire Centre doesn’t have the capacity of other arenas. But that should make it easier to sell out, especially for a home game in the conference finals. Especially if it’s an elimination game for Ottawa.
If this happened to the Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators or Arizona Coyotes, the media would have a field day. The fan bases would get blasted and called out (and rightfully so). For years, Ottawa has been fighting for relevancy, competing with the media darling Toronto Maple Leafs. But now that they’re relevant, they still can’t sell out a conference finals home game.

There’s still time for fans to buy tickets, as the game doesn’t start until 8:00 p.m. ET. Hopefully, the Senators won’t have to play in front of a non-capacity crowd. Even if they lose tonight, they deserve to be sent off right. Ottawa overcame a lot this season and have been one heck of a team to root for. There’s no reason Game 6 shouldn’t be sold out for them.
