Sheldon Richardson trashes Brandon Marshall in interview
By John McCarty
An offseason with few headlines gets a big one with Sheldon Richardson’s comments directed towards former Jets receiver Brandon Marshall.
Coming into the offseason and all the way through the draft, there were rumors floating that the New York Jets were looking into a trade for defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson. Instead, Richardson has stayed put and on Tuesday, gave one hell of a quote. Talking about why the Jets locker room is already better, Richardson made sure to let everyone know his feelings towards former teammate Brandon Marshall.

Richardson is referencing Marshall, who wore No. 15 with Gang Green. He released by the Jets this offseason before signing with the New York Giants. This is nothing new, as Richardson has had issues with Marshall dating back to a locker room argument after an ugly loss the the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3.
Richardson’s past two seasons have been marred by off-field problems including a suspension to start the 2015 season and poor performance in 2016.
Marshall seemed to be well-regarded by most over his two seasons with the Jets. However, it needs to be pointed out, Marshall has bounced around his whole career, playing for five different teams including the Broncos, Dolphins, Bears, Jets and now, Giants.

For New York, the last thing it needs is any more distractions on a team that has been rife with them since the days of Rex Ryan. For his part, Richardson should pipe down and play better football.
With Marshall across town, one has to think, these comments from Richardson may simply be the opening salvo in a prolonged verbal sparring.
