WWE SmackDown Live, May 23: Watch online
Here is how you can watch the first WWE SmackDown Live event following this past Sunday’s “Backlash” event.
Just 48 hours after a wild Backlash pay-per-view event in Chicago, WWE SmackDown Live will feature the fallout of Sunday’s card. And there is plenty to cover following the event.
There is a new WWE Champion on team blue, and his name … is Jinder Mahal. No, in case you missed the pay-per-view, that’s NOT a misprint. Mahal did the unthinkable and dethroned Randy Orton in Chicago, sending shockwaves throughout the WWE Universe. The question now is what will the Maharaja have to say on Tuesday night, as he rolls into SmackDown! Live as the new WWE Champion?
Kevin Owens is still your United States Champion, and “Face of America,” after slipping past AJ Styles in a competitive match on Sunday. Following the event on “Talking Smack,” Owens hinted that he may put his sights on the new WWE Champion. Could we imagine a future championship match between Jinder Mahal and Kevin Owens?
The heralded “King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura had a successful WWE debut at “Backlash,” knocking off Dolph Ziggler in the opening match. Now that he’s had his first match, fans can expect to see more of the Japanese sensation in the weeks to come. And you can bet Ziggler won’t let this latest setback go unnoticed.
With the brand extension, or “Superstar Shakeup” as this recent version was known, is now well in the past, we’re getting a good look at the landscape of SmackDown! Live. The problem is, “Backlash” changed all of that. This Tuesday night should be VERY interesting. Here’s how you can watch this week’s edition.
