NBC’s Law & Order: SVU signs off with a two-hour season finale. Here’s how you can watch season 18, episode 20 and episode 21 live, on TV and online.

The 18th season of NBC‘s Law & Order: SVU comes to a conclusion Wednesday with a pair of consecutive episodes telling one powerful story.

Season 18, episodes 20 and 21 are called “American Dream” and “Sanctuary,” respectively. They focus on a hate crime that turns deadly and include Fringe‘s Kirk Acevedo and Code Black star Melanie Chandra as the featured guest stars. The episodes are not related to the Law & Order episode “American Dream.”

How will Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and the SVU squad handle this particularly thorny case that seems to deal with multiple crimes? Will anyone reference that Acevedo was on SVU before as a different character and starred on Law & Order: Trial By Jury, too? You’ll have to watch and see.

Fans should note that these are two back-to-back episodes, not one two-hour movie, so those who are setting their DVR will have to program for both 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. to see the entire SVU finale.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episodes:

"A hate crime against a Muslim family results in the death of their daughter. When a crucial witness in the case is deported, Barba is forced to drop the charges against a suspect, and tensions rise between communities on opposing sides of the case. The unexpected release of a suspect in a hate crime case leaves Benson and Barba caught between two families seeking justice for their loved ones. As public protests escalate to violence, Benson goes to desperate lengths to make an arrest."
