Manchester United won the Europa League final against Ajax. Here are the best reactions from Twitter.

The Red Devils captured another trophy to add to their massive trophy case. Today Manchester United triumphed in the Europa League final against Dutch side Ajax. Their victory sealed another European title for the club as well as an automatic berth into next season’s edition of the Champions League.

In the wake of a terrible tragedy that struck the heart of the city, the club brought home a win that meant more than another title. Fans of the club, members of the city and people around the world came together in support of Manchester. The match, and ultimately their victory helped bring the city together in a time of mourning.

The match itself was one-sided and ultimately rather uneventful. A deflected shot by Paul Pogba and a nice flick by Henrikh Mkhitaryan gave Manchester United a two-goal win. Perhaps the most exciting part of the match? United actually finding a second goal and not just parking the bus with a one goal advantage. Though they certainly parked the bus after that second goal.

United accomplished victory in Mourinho’s classic style, playing smothering defense while not really getting forward much.

With only stoppage time remaining, Wayne Rooney was subbed on for perhaps the last time. The long-time skipper is likely to leave United, and his substitution only further supports that possibility.

Manchester United finally claimed their first Europa League title. They join Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Ajax and Juventus as the only clubs to win every European competition. This maybe only the beginning of the revival with more recruits, possibly including Antoine Griezmann, coming this summer. Jose Mourinho also becomes the first manager to win the Champions League and the Europa League/UEFA Cup twice.
