10. Joe Horn will call you on his cell phone

During the 2000s, just about every good wide receiver in the NFL not named Marvin Harrison was thinking about all the cool stuff he was going to do in the end zone once he scored a touchdown. Though he was not as proficient at the art of celebration like Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens, or Steve Smith Sr., New Orleans Saints wideout Joe Horn definitely had an all-time celebration.

During a home game against the New York Giants, Horn would take it to the house on New York on a sweet pass from quarterback Aaron Brooks. With the help of a teammate, Horn was able to locate his iconic flip phone and make a phone call to some one real important on national television.

Who did Horn call on his cell phone? Drake was still probably Degrassi-ing or whatever suburban Canadians did in the 2000s. Not to say that this strategic phone call was responsible for the “Who Dat?” unifier in Saints lore, but it only added to that catchy New Orleans football slogan for sure.

Cell phone service was spotty at that time in America. While we could hear you now if you were on the Verizon plan, we may never know which provider Horn had his flip phone under. It’s safe to say that it wasn’t Verizon. If that were the case it would be the Verizon Superdome and not the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
