With the top seed already out, the second round should be very exciting. It’s an open field filled with a variety of contenders. Simona Halep looked great today even though she didn’t have her best day. Agnieszka Radwanska looked about as good as anyone has this tournament. Elina Svitolina has impressed, but she also battles inconsistency, as she showed today. Venus Williams is definitely someone to keep an eye on, especially after a dominant first round win on Sunday.
