From one golf legend to another, Jack Nicklaus showed his support and concern towards Tiger Woods following Woods’ DUI arrest.

After Tiger Woods found himself in the news for a DUI arrest on Monday, Jack Nicklaus told reporters that he was concerned for the golfing great.

At a press conference at The Memorial Tournament in Ohio, Nicklaus gave his thoughts about the entire situation, and said that Woods “needs our help” through all of this trouble.

"“I feel bad for Tiger,” Nicklaus said. “Tiger’s a friend. He’s been great for the game of golf. He needs our help. I wish him well.”"

Nicklaus added that he always figured his major championship record of 18 would be broken by Woods at some point in his career, before Woods fell into his injuries and issues outside of the course.

"“Tiger, I always thought, was going to break my record,” Nicklaus said. “Did I enjoy watching him play? Absolutely. Did I enjoy every time Tiger did something, my name was mentioned right beside it? It kept me relevant. It was as good for me as it was for him.”"

According to police reports, Woods blew a 0.0 on a breathalyzer, showing he had no alcohol in his system, but had to be woken up in his car early Monday morning by the police. He was reportedly sleeping on the side of the road with his car running.

Woods had gone through a fourth back surgery in April, and told the police that he was on several prescription drugs and painkillers. Alcohol wasn’t present in his system, and was presumably affected by the prescription drugs he was taking.

Court documents state that Woods was unable to pass several other tests when he was arrested, and Woods reportedly changed his story about where he came from and where he was headed several times while he was being questioned.
