LeBron James has never won a title in a year when the Alabama Crimson Tide fail to win the National Championship.

LeBron James is carrying the Cleveland Cavaliers to yet another Finals appearance. For King James, this is his seventh straight appearance in the NBA Finals. Not even Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant could achieve this ridiculous milestone. It illustrates how good LeBron is at carrying teams and how consistently dominant he is in the postseason. People talk about how strong the Western Conference is, but maybe it’s strong because players want to go there to avoid King James?

Here’s an interesting tidbit about LeBron and Alabama football. The two aren’t connected, or are they? LeBron has never won a title in a season during which the Crimson Tide didn’t win the national title. However, since 2011, whenever Alabama wins the championship, LeBron has become an NBA champion. For what it’s worth, the Crimson Tide narrowly lost to Clemson.

This is an interesting showdown between two curses – the Alabama curse and the Stephen A. Smith curse. Smith picked the Golden State Warriors to beat the Cavaliers in the Finals. However, considering his history of being wrong about the NBA Finals, Dubs fans should be alarmed.

LeBron and the Cavaliers will have to overcome the odds to repeat as NBA champions. First of all, the Warriors will be out for revenge. Cleveland can’t rely on Golden State to choke again. Kevin Durant likely tips the scales in the Warriors’ favor. Secondly, King James will have to overcome at least one curse – the Alabama curse.

Another ring will put LeBron in the same category as Kobe and Jordan. He already is in their league, but even his biggest haters won’t be able to deny his greatness if he can beat the Warriors in consecutive seasons.
