MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel May 30th
I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.
Tonight’s slate features 14 games, with Colorado (6), Toronto (5.5), Tampa Bay (5.1), and Seattle (5.1), holding the best projected team totals. With high-priced players available, finding value will be critical for success tonight. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
DraftKings MLB Values:

Kevin Pillar – TOR (OF) – $3700
Toronto will play host to the visiting Cincinnati Reds, in a game in which Toronto has a projected team total of 5.5 runs. Kevin Pillar will lead off tonight, and should offer value at $3700. Pillar is much cheaper on DraftKings, relative to FanDuel. He’s struggled to score fantasy points, of late, but he’s in a spot to help from the second highest team total on the slate.
Ivan Nova – PIT (P) – $6400
Ivan Nova may not be the ideal choice at the pitching position tonight, but from a pricing perspective, he’s considerably under priced. Even if Nova isn’t the top option, he may still offer value, given that he’s priced at only $6400 (the lowest he’s been all year). He won’t threaten to be the top scoring pitcher on the night, but could offer the salary relief needed to pay up for big bats.
FanDuel MLB Values:

Ben Zobrist- CHC (OF) – $3300
Ben Zobrist has been dealing with a wrist injury of late, but is expected to be back in the lineup tonight, where he could be leading off. If he does draw the lead off spot, he should offer value at this price point. Before the wrist injury, Zobrist began to find his swing and therefore saw a massive bump in his batted ball stats. In the last 15 days, his distance is up 50 feet, his hard hit percentage is up 22%, and his exit velocity is up 6 MPH, over his yearly averages.
Max Kepler – MIN (OF) – $3200
After a high scoring affair yesterday, Minnesota will take on the visiting Astros again tonight and are expected to score 4.7 runs. Max Kepler will benefit from facing the righty, Mike Fiers. Kepler has crushed right-handed pitching, holding a .349 wOBA split and a .225 ISO split.
