NBA Draft 2017: 5 prospects with All-Star potential
By Ynal Al-Ouri
3. De’Aaron Fox, PG, Kentucky
Fox was one of the most enjoyable players to watch last season. It was hard to believe at times that he is only 19-years old with his advanced ability to drive and penetrate the paint. Although he possess great playmaking ability at the point guard position, he has shown that he can take over a game on the offensive end alone if required.
Fox also demonstrated good rebounding ability from his position, as he averaged four rebounds per game for Kentucky last season. He had many memorable games in his brief college career, but none were more impressive than his 39-point outburst during the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. He shot an efficient 13-of-20 from the field, and showed the world he has what it takes to play at the next level.
Fox’s biggest downfall is his shooting ability. He shot a lowly 24 percent from beyond the arc last season, and needs to make improvements there. With that said, he still averaged over 16 points a game, and improving his 3-point shot will only make him more intriguing. Fox has proven he can lead a team to victory, and could potentially develop into an All-Star caliber point guard during his career.
