The Bachelorette star Michael Nance found dead at 31

Michael Nance, known for his appearance on ABC’s popular reality show, was found dead at 31
Michael Nance, a former contestant on The Bachelorette was found dead on Monday morning. He was only 31 years-old. The reality TV personality was best known for trying to win Emily Maynard’s heart during season 8 of the hit ABC dating series.
According to TV Guide, police responded to an emergency call in the early hours of Monday morning. When they arrived on the scene, Michael Nance was found unresponsive. He was pronounced dead less than an hour after police arrived.
A representative from the Austin, Texas Police Department revealed that the death is currently not being looked at as suspicious, and that the cause of death will later be confirmed.
"“At this point it is not a suspicious death and the manner will be determined by the medical examiner.”"
People Magazine reports that Michael Nance had previously admitted that he struggled with an addiction to prescription medication.
"“Right now, life is good, but I haven’t put as much focus on my love life because the way I was a couple years ago, no one would have wanted to be around me,” Nancy previously said. “I was addicted to prescription pain medicine. It all starts out fun and then somewhere along the road, it just turned into something else. It’s a vicious cycle and it ate away at me for a long time.”"
In addition to his reality TV past, Nance was also a musician who was beloved by many members of Bachelor nation. Following the news of his death, Emily Maynard released a statement via Twitter.
"“So sad waking up to the news about Michael Nance. Such a kind heart with so much talent. Sending prayers and love to his family and friends,” she wrote."
