Congratulations Nashville Predators fans, Justin Bieber just guaranteed you a Stanley Cup title by jinxing the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Justin Bieber’s track record with being a bandwagon fan is getting even worse than Drake. He has been seen supporting a variety of hockey teams, including the Los Angeles Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals. But now Bieber’s crossing the line after taking an Instagram picture in a Pittsburgh Penguins jersey.

Start planning your Stanley Cup parade now, Nashville Predators fans. This is bad for the Penguins. Bieber is a human jinx. Having him root for your hockey team is like having Stephen A. Smith predict your NBA team will win the Finals. Bieber is a huge hockey fan who plays in an adult league when he’s not touring. He even showed off his talents during the 2017 NHL All-Star Game celebrity shootout. Bieber’s best contribution from that day? Getting face-washed by Hall of Fame defenseman Chris Pronger.

This is the closest Canada has come to winning the Stanley Cup since the Montreal Canadiens in 1992-93. While Canadians still have a slight majority of players in the NHL, Canadian teams have been disgraceful. But at least this season, some of them made the playoffs, unlike in 2015-16, when none of them did.

Even before Bieber took the photo, Penguins fans should have been worried. While they won Game 1, they sure didn’t look good while doing it. Pittsburgh gave up a 3-0 lead and went the entire second period (and most of the third) without a single shot on goal.

Jake Guentzel saved the day on Monday by scoring the game winning goal on the Penguins first shot since they scored their third goal of the game. This happened at the end of the first period. The Bieber curse is being put to the test. Now Penguins fans know who to blame if they don’t repeat as Stanley Cup champions.
