Report: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join PSG
Reports are surfacing that Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to join PSG this summer.
One of the hottest forwards in world soccer, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer in favor of Paris Saint-Germain, according to Yahoo Sport France. The reported fee is £61 million ($78.57 million), with Aubameyang set to make £168,000/week ($216,000/week) with the Ligue 1 giants.
The massive transfer fee and weekly wages aren’t the only big number involved in this transfer. It is also being reported Aubameyang will receive a massive £5.25 million sign-on fee with the French club if the move is completed. Aubameyang will join an already formidable attack in the French capital that includes the likes of Edinson Cavani, who led Ligue 1 in scoring, Angel Di Maria and Lucas Moura.
Paris Saint-Germain already had the top scorer in Ligue 1 in Cavani, who had 35 goals in 36 appearances this season. Adding a potent scorer like Aubameyang to the mix will only make them more intimidating.
Aubameyang had himself a fantastic season in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund as well. He finished the 2016-17 season with 31 goals in the Bundesliga in 32 appearances, with only one coming off the bench.

Along with lighting up the Bundesliga, Aubameyang scored seven goals and added nine assists in the Champions League. He also scored two goals in three games in the DFB Pokal and two goals in three appearances for the Gabon National Team during the African Cup of Nations. Needless to say, Aubameyang has quickly come to be regarded as one of the best pure goal scorers in soccer today.
This signing comes as no surprise, as PSG lost out on another Ligue 1 title to AS Monaco this season. While they are definitely the most star-studded club in France, they aren’t afraid to splash out the cash to achieve their goals of regaining their supremacy atop Ligue 1, and to challenge in European competition as well.
