The scoring was light early on in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, but Kevin Durant provided a nice highlight on this alley-oop from Draymond Green.

Many were wondering if nerves or rust would affect Kevin Durant and his performance for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, but he proved early that he wouldn’t be stopped.

Making his first appearance in the NBA Finals since his Oklahoma City Thunder lost to LeBron James’ Miami Heat back in 2012, Durant busted open the dunk highlights early on for the Warriors as he battled James and his Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1.

Durant made an incredible cut and caught a nice pass from Draymond Green from behind the arc, as he slammed down the alley-oop in front of the hometown crowd.

The dunk provided the first real spark in this year’s Finals and got a good run going for the Warriors early in the first quarter.

The Warriors haven’t been on the court in a real game for nine days since they finished off their sweep of the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals, while the Cavaliers have had six days of rest since their five-game series with the Boston Celtics on the Eastern Conference side.

This year marks the third straight year of the NBA Finals featuring the Warriors and the Cavaliers, but the addition of Durant to Golden State’s roster provides a unique switch from the norm established by the prior two series. Durant is in pursuit for his first NBA Finals ring, and will need to get through LeBron, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in order to make his bold free agency move worth it.

Either way, if Durant’s alley-oop is a sign of what’s to come in this star-studded series, basketball fans are in for a treat with the third round between the Warriors and the Cavaliers.
