Thunderous dunks have been the trend in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and LeBron James decided to join the party by posterizing JaVale McGee.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals has basically turned into a monstrous dunk contest, with Kevin Durant and LeBron James seemingly trading some huge slams back and forth early on.

The Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers are putting up some serious scoring after some early rust, but LeBron and Durant went for a classic game of “Anything you can do, I can do better.”

A few minutes after Durant made LeBron look silly by breaking his ankles and driving in for a big dunk, LeBron decided to get his revenge on one of Durant’s teammates. LeBron went in hard on JaVale McGee, and posterized the center in the process.

LeBron is already having a monster night, as he hit 6,000 career postseason points on an earlier basket in the first quarter. He’s seemingly bouncing back quickly from the controversy surrounding the racist vandalism to his house in Los Angeles, and is playing with some serious aggression if you’ve seen his dunks.

The two teams showed some rust early after the Warriors had nine days of rest after the Western Conference finals, and the Cavaliers received six days off after taking the Eastern Conference. However, once things really got going, no one could be stopped on their way to the basket.

The craziest thing out of all of this is that these dunks all came in just the first quarter of Game 1. At this rate, we’ll have a career’s worth of dunk highlights for both Durant and LeBron after this series is over.

The game was already at 35-30 in favor of the Warriors after the first quarter, and if the pace keeps up with all the highlight dunks and high scoring, we’re definitely in for the greatest NBA Finals of all-time.
