With Arsene Wenger staying on at Arsenal past this season, he seems eager to lift the spirits of the supporters with new signings. Arsenal have reportedly bid £100 million for AS Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe.

Arsenal look set to go on a spending spree this summer, and their first target is Kylian Mbappe, who they reportedly bid £100 million for. Mbappe burst onto the scene this season with AS Monaco, proving his worth in Ligue 1 and in the UEFA Champions League.

Mbappe gave Monaco some serious efficiency in Ligue 1 this season. The 18-year old forward played in 1,501 minutes over 29 appearances, 12 off the bench, and scored 15 goals.

One goal every 100 minutes is a fantastic output for someone so young. Mbappe also added eight assists to his tally in Ligue 1 as well.

Mbappe didn’t just prove his worth domestically either. Monaco made a dream run to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions league, and the young Frenchman played a big part in their success. In nine appearances, three off the bench, Mbappe scored six goals in his maiden voyage into European competition as a senior team player.

Along with his stellar performances in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League, Mbappe put in solid performances in both domestic cups as well. He scored three goals in three appearances in the Coupe de la Ligue, and scored two goals in three apperances in the Coupe de France. That means that the 18-year old forward scored 26 goals and had eight assists in 44 appearances for AS Monaco this season. Fantastic stuff.

The attempt at signing Mbappe should show serious intent and ambition on behalf of Wenger and the club. And with Arsenal supporters being on edge, as they always seem to be, with the ownership and management, this might just be enough to satiate their hunger for new players to spice things up.
