Chris Johnson wants to continue career

Veteran running back Chris Johnson continues to look for a new home determined to continue career
Once an electrifying play maker capable of hitting the end zone on any snap, veteran running back Chris Johnson continues to hold out hope he can find a team willing to allow him the opportunity to show off his skills after limited touches in 2016 with the Cardinals.
As Zach Links points out in a recent piece with profootballrumors.com , Johnson was limited to only four games last season, going on injured reserve after Week 4 due to a groin injury. While it was reported there was mutual interest between the Cardinals and the 32-year-old running back, Johnson wanted to test the market. Staying in Arizona might limit him, with David Johnson emerging as one of the better running backs in football.
Thus far, Johnson has found the options limited as he continues his search for a new home. After three pro bowl appearances and six 1,000-yard seasons on his resume, Johnson’s best option is to accept a backup/third down role or wait until training camp starts and wait for an established veteran injury. It remains to be seen if Johnson is willing to accept such a role.
"“At this point in my career, I don’t want to sit on the sideline. I want to get in the game.”"

At this point, especially after the draft, it certainly appears a return to Arizona could be out of the question. Despite their intention to move running back Andre Ellington to wide receiver, Arizona is still fairly deep at the position. Along with the aforementioned rookie Logan, Kerwynn Williams remains with the team.
As is the sad but not uncommon case in the NFL, careers, especially running backs find their careers end not with glory and adulation, but the quiet of free agency. Johnson is hoping to find a spot that, for at least another season, can take a shot at going out on his own terms.
