4. Chicago Bulls

Okay, hear me out on this one, before you start to shake your head in disbelief. The Chicago Bulls have three huge needs heading into this offseason: shooting, shooting and more freaking shooting. They were god awful this past season and as expected the trio of Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo couldn’t create space due to a lack of shooting threats.

They tried at the trade deadline to add some shooting, by shipping Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott to Oklahoma City for Cameron Payne and Anthony Morrow. The trade didn’t necessarily help and the Bulls’ shooting didn’t improve. They ranked 25th and 24th, respectively, in field goal and three-point percentage in the NBA.

Here’s one way to improve that number: sign Waiters. The best part about all of this is that nobody would have thought that Waiters would become a shooter in the NBA. He was shooting 31 percent from three during his rookie season. Five seasons later, he’s gotten that mark up to 40 percent.

The Bulls could move him into the starting role and Wade into a sixth-man role, allowing Butler more space to operate with Waiters on the outside. If the free-agent shooting guard can further improve his shooting, it could prove to be a valuable signing for Chicago.
