Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors speaks on Game 1’s “Rihanna-gate” and deceptively sends a shot at her music, too.

The Golden State Warriors are embroiled in their NBA Finals trilogy against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Warriors star players Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry looked in peak form, combining for 56 points in the Warriors’ 113-91 Game 1 victory. While the Warriors appeared locked in, there was one celebrity on the sidelines who tried to steer that focus elsewhere.

Enter Robyn Rihanna Fenty; pop superstar and avid LeBron James supporter. Rihanna allegedly had Durant embroiled in a war of words, which caused Durant to allegedly stare Rihanna down after a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter. You, as a reader, can be the judge.

Then, Rihanna let us know how she really felt after the game. (Somewhat NSFW language below)

Sheesh.

After much publicity about the incidents the past few days, Curry was given a chance to talk about it in a Saturday press conference before Sunday’s Game 2 matchup. Curry, usually diplomatic, apparently isn’t about Rihanna’s music in the locker room.

Another sheesh.

To Curry’s defense, the running gag on Rihanna’s career has been she’s only a singles-driven artist. To translate into layman’s terms, her music is only good if it’s being targeted on the radio. Her albums as a whole? Not so much. It’s usually stated she’s the product of talent around her, so those comments aren’t too far fetched.

But, Curry and his crew should be careful of letting outside forces inside during the NBA Finals. Similar problems came last year when Draymond Green was suspended for Game 5 while the Warriors had a 3-1 lead. And, we know how that all turned out. While LeBron and the Cavaliers look down and out, maybe Rihanna-gate may give them the spark they need.
