After the US Men’s National Team fell down 1-0 to Venezuela on Saturday night, 18-year old Christian Pulisic pulled them level in the second half.

The US Men’s National Team didn’t start off their international friendly with Venezuela on Saturday night quite the way they’d hoped. With some shaky defense on a corner, their opponents were able to strike first. That was the scoreline they saw going into the half as well. Thus, they needed a spark of life in the second 45 minutes.

As he has been so often for the USA of late, 18-year old Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic was there to answer the call. He began to control the attack of the US and the Venezuelan defense began to show cracks. And sure enough, the young up-and-comer took advantage.

Taking to the middle of the pitch, Pulisic received the ball at the top of the 18. When the defense tried to collapse, he put a beautiful touch on the ball to move to his left. He then unfurled a quick shot to split two defenders and tuck the ball past the keeper’s outstretched hand and inside the far post.

The kid is simply magical right now. As the FOX Soccer tweet says, that’s Pulisic’s fifth time finding net for the USMNT. And just another reminder, he’s just barely able to see a rated-R movie. It’s safe to say that the future is bright for the Dortmund player.

As bright as the future may be, though, Pulisic and the USA should be concerned with the present. His goal ultimately proved to be clinching score for the tie. With huge World Cup Qualifying matches and then the Gold Cup ahead, he and the USMNT need to be in top form. If he keeps carrying the attack and providing the spark he’s capable of, that’s in the cards.
