Wanda Durant showed up on First Take Sunday prior to Game 2, and she had something to say to Stephen A. Smith

It’s really not all that much of a secret that many people out there were not a fan of Kevin Durant landing with the Golden State Warriors last July, and they still aren’t to this day as Durant is three wins away from collecting his first title with them. One of those people who was not a fan of the move is Stephen A. Smith, of ESPN First Take fame.

Well prior to Game 2 on Sunday, a Durant fired back at the criticism of Smith — but it wasn’t Kevin. No, it was the woman who KD calls “The Real MVP,” his mother Wanda.

Wanda Durant took a seat at the First Take table on Sunday, and after offering up some necessary kind words for Smith, who unfortunately lost his mother earlier this week, she then went ahead and made a pretty good argument in favor of her baby boy.

Firstly, our condolences go out to Smith as well on the loss of his beloved mother, causing the absence from his usual chair.

But as for the argument from Mrs. Durant, it’s one that a lot of people have been making for the past year, only specifically using Smith’s career venture as an example. When you step back and take a look at it, all Durant did was go out and get himself a better job, basically something that we all strive to do at some point or another in our lives. Despite that, though, it will forever rub people that wrong way that one of the best players of this generation made the move that he did.

One day, Smith will be back in that aforementioned chair, and when he does come back, a nice little debate between these two would definitely be something we’d all tune in to watch.
